When in need of some beauty tips, we head straight to the search bar to discover what latest beauty craze will maintain our healthy and flawless skin. Have you ever wondered what girls just like you and me are searching for in their daily beauty quest? Well, that’s exactly what this recent Google Beauty Trend 2017 Report accomplished.
Every year Google releases a list of the most-searched items in their beauty section. Using the key beauty words that you, me, and literally every other girl typed into Google Search, they compiled the most popular skincare trends from the U.S., France, Japan, and all the world markets. And we just got the inside scoop. Despite these three markets catering to girls thousands of miles apart, there is evident crossover in the skincare products we are choosing to use. Us girls are always looking for what next to add to our beauty regime, and these reports revealed just that.
We all love sending our besties silly snapchats of our painted green face, so we weren’t surprised that face masks are the number one skincare trend across all three markets. Masks have been trending in Japan for the last five years, and thank goodness these amusing and beneficial applicants have become a favorite amongst the U.S. and France. According to the reports, we are all about the full mask experience, which explains why you might be drawn to a bright color, gooey texture, tropical scent, or organic ingredients of one mask over another. What’s even more awesome is that the crystal beauty ball shows that the next trending masks won’t just be for your face, but other body parts. Woah — say what!? Stay tuned.

Charcoal Face Mask
Charcoal masks are the third ranked by volume of searches in the U.S., and has shown a 274% growth. We usually find charcoal in our barbeque pit or disinfectant supplies, which is perhaps why we are so intrigued by putting this black goop on our face. If you are looking for a deep exfoliation and blackhead exterminator, a charcoal mask will do the trick.
Peel-Off Face Mask
As gross as it sounds, there’s no denying that we get satisfaction from peeling away our impurities, and seeing the proof in a peel-off face mask. This process removes a layer of skin, and exposes one that is smooth and luminous. Plus, peel-off masks are packed with nourishing ingredients that exude healthy vitamins and antioxidants in your skin. With a 117% growth in the U.S. and 91% in France, these masks have surely brought the hype.
Sheet Face Mask
Skin care doesn’t get easier than placing a soaked sheet on your face, and simply letting your skin soak in all the nutrients. Unlike other masks, sheet masks are quick and easy to apply, which is why more girls are giving them a try; there are already little holes for your eyes, nose, and mouth, and there’s no goop or rinsing involved. The masks are filled with serum, which has ingredients like aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, and alginine – all vitamins and minerals your skin will love you for! Sheet masks have grown 184% in the U.S. and 23% in Japan, proving that pulling one of these out just might be beat going to the spa!
Bath Bombs With Rings
With bath bombs mainly trending in the U.S. and France, it’s clear that we all love a “bomb” bubble bath. Let one of these bombs off in your tub, and you will get a spectacular explosion of colors, fizz, and fragrance. But the biggest surprise of all is the dazzling ring that appears when your ball completely disintegrates. More bling?
That’s enough to make us give this bomb a scrub-a-dub! On top of this show, the bomb releases essential oils and skin conditioning ingredients into the water. Fun fact, girls just like you have found ways to get crafty with DIY bath bombs, which are growing rapidly at 80%.
24K Gold Face Mask
Research shows that we have become obsessed with gold beyond monetary value. If you want a face of gold, all you need to do is slather your face with a 24K gold mask.
The components in gold trigger elasticity, blood circulation, and a glowing complexion, and decrease melanin and inflammation. Gold infused beauty products are everywhere, so don’t miss out and stay golden.
Charcoal For Skin
An atypical ingredient, you may have noticed that activated charcoal is becoming more prominent in beauty products. Strangely enough, the carbon component eats up the dirt and oil in your pores, leaving you renewed. It has the potency to remove toxins from your system and leave you feeling cleansed.
Just a small amount of charcoal can treat acne, blackheads, blemishes, and irritated skin. This black residue is showing up more and more in face masks, exfoliators, washes, and even in consumable capsules.
Next up, these are the unexpected products EVERYONE is buying from Amazon.
