Blame it on the weather or the coming of fall frenzy, but we all get that itch to refresh our shoe racks. When Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2015/16 and Dolce and Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2016 runway featured the chunky and practical heels our grandmother loved, we were taken aback. This Is the Best Age to Start Using Anti-Aging Products
The holy grail of skincare, is without a doubt, anti-aging products—especially products that yield real results. One of the biggest questions when it comes to anti-aging products is when to start in order to prevent future aging. While that question is much debated, the search for the fountain of youth is starting younger. According to the WSJ, women have been showing an increased interest in anti-aging products and ladies in their 30s and even their 20s are getting a head start at preventing aging. Needless to say, we jumped on the anti-aging bandwagon years ago and we’re glad we did—because according to traditional Korean wisdom, referenced in the article, the younger you start the better. And in case you haven’t noticed, skin-savvy Korean women know what their talking about when it comes to skincare. Thanks to a love of K-beauty as well as beauty lines like Sulwhasoo, a South Korean line recently launched at Bergdorf Goodman aiming as young as the 30 something market, the anti-aging movement is growing in popularity and everyone is learning the benefits of starting early. To give us an expert take on the subject, we caught up with celebrity facialist and all around skincare guru, Joanna Vargas, who offers her expertise on the subject. “I always recommend that women start taking good care of themselves early—mid to late twenties is ideal,” Vargas said of the anti-aging and what age to start. “My rationale is pretty simple: You wouldn’t start going to the gym once you saw your getting a muffin top or your butt is dragging on the floor—you would do it as a preventative. We should look at skincare in the same way. You want to take care of it so it always does what you want.” Vargas also added that you want to make sure you use the anti-aging products that’s right for your skin, not just any anti-aging product. Using the right product for your skin is crucial—make sure to ask the right questions before trying the product on your skin. Heeding Vargas’s and the article’s advice, more and more skin care companies are releasing lines targeted at women in their 3os and these are the best to use when looking to use anti-aging products in your 20 and 30s. Algenist is one of the companies doing best in the anti-aging products for younger shoppers. According to the article, “The line is produced by Solazyme Inc., a publicly traded South San Francisco, Calif.-based biotech company who discovered an extract from algae that demonstrated an ability to increase cell regeneration and to reduce inflammation, while protecting from UV light damage. The company created a name for the product: alguronic acid.” The line is doing so well that the Algenist anti-aging serum is one of Sephora’s top three sellers in the serum category, Allison Slater, vice president of retail marketing for Sephora reported to the WSJ. In like manner, Sulwhasoo, a South Korean line recently launched at Bergdorf Goodman has a line of skincare targeted at prevention and their website says their goal is to: “Balance and strengthen vital energies before visible signs of aging develop.” And La Prairie, recently introduced a line of products called:The Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection is designed to “fight first signs of aging.” The formula helps control the evolution of skin aging, recovering hydration and reducing the appearance of deep wrinkles. While the task of choosing the correct product may seem daunting, Vargas offers some advice: “For younger women, instead of using products designed for older women that could cause breakouts, I normally recommend using products that offer a nice variety of basic vitamins the skin needs to look great. Vitamin C, chlorophyll, Argan oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil are all ingredients that pack a punch in terms of vital care that will maintain the skins clarity, elasticity and glow.” The Vitamin C Face Wash from Vargas’s own line of products does the trick perfectly. Whichever products you choose to use, make sure you get started as early as possible, because prevention is key. Anti-aging products have always been the cornerstones of skincare and now that we know that starting earlier can help prevent wrinkles down the line, it is time to invest. 8 Lighting Secrets Interior Designers Swear By
Do you ever enter a room and become captivated by how beautiful everything looks? Is it the spacing of the furniture in the room? The beautiful, modern accent chairs? Maybe the tufted ottoman that’s perfectly rested next to the plush velvet couch? Whatever it is, you want to stay in that room—and more often than not that je ne sais quoi is the perfect lighting.
No question about it, lighting is one of the most transformative elements you can add to to a room—and while I am never strict to follow the rules, it should be noted that each room in the house should have some lighting guidelines.
If you’re looking to have the right glow in every room (and since you’re still reading this, I’ll assume you do)—you’d better take note because Elle Decor recently published a story on the 3 lighting types every room needs and with the expertise of Michael Murphy, an interior designer and Trends Producer for Lamps Plus it’s all about striking the right balance between these three must-have types of lighting — ambient, task, and accent.
Read on for more lighting insight!1. Be more productive with task lighting.
The purpose of task lighting is in its name: it helps you accomplish a task. So, desk lamps that help with doing homework, perfect your beauty routine, bedside lamps that provide lighting for with reading, kitchen lights that illuminate food preparation. all fall into the category of task lighting. Task lighting is typically concentrated and not distracting and thus can be accomplished by using track lighting, under-cabinet lighting, desk lamps, and floor lamps. According to ELLE Décor’s expert, Murphy says that task lighting for a bathroom can also be accomplished by using sconces and bath bars.
2. Focus attention with accent lighting.
The purpose of accent light is to draw the eye’s attention to a focal point. Accent lighting is the best way to add drama to a room. This is also the lighting that should be used to showcase art, collectables, sculptures, plants—and even unique mural wallpaper. Common types of accent lights include wall-mounted picture lights and track lighting.
3. Set the mood with ambient lighting.
And my favorite type of lighting: ambient lighting. The purpose of accent light is to provide a soft, even glow, throughout a space. Ambient light is typically accomplished through overhead lights such as chandeliers but it is diverse enough to be accomplished through floor lamps, wall mounted lights, and even track lighting.

The Fashion Girl’s Guide to Tracksuit Styling
When we thought the athleisure trend had peaked, fashion threw us a curve ball (and we’re not upset about it). Sporting a 90’s feel, this new athleisure trend is the infamous coverall, the tracksuit. Are you feeling a little cautious about the trend? Well, don’t.
Vogue recently called the new trend “a brash beacon of glory,” proving that the sporty trend is in full force. The trend was also spotted on the hottest runways this season, including Chloe, Loewe, and Alexander Wang. And more. While Tracksuit Styling was originally made for the gym.
This new wave of tracksuits is, as the New York Times said, “a confluence of gender-free dressing, laid-back ’90s athletic inspirations, and a hip-hop aesthetic.” And while the tracksuit is the epitome of the comfortable athleisure trend, you don’t want to look like you just stepped out of a track and field training camp, so dress it up with some strappy heels or layer a tracksuit under a trench. Feeling a little iffy about how to style the trend? Worry not – we’ve rounded up 5 key styling tips on how to wear and upgrade the tracksuit based on how our favorite It girls are styling the trend.
Scroll through to see the tips. Then, once you’ve gotten a hang of how to upgrade the tracksuit, shop our picks, because, as Vogue said, “powerful, badass people wear them.”
Tip 1: Keep it fitted
Let’s face it— as girls, we love being comfy, but don’t get carry away. If you’re wearing a tracksuit, keep it fit— never cute to have anything look too baggy. Complement your tracksuit by wearing them with a pair of the Adidas Originals Stan Smith Sneakers. Finish the look off with some red lipstick and a dutch braid.

Tip 2: Keep it monochrome When wearing a tracksuit, coordinate a single-color outfit. We’re obsessed with the one-color looks of PRETTY GARDEN women.
Tip 3: Mix your textures. Show off your supergirl powers by mixing your motifs and textures. We love the look of the Adidas Y-3 by Yohji Yamamoto reversed track pants paired with Adidas Originals ‘Shell Tile Superstar’ Track Jacket ($75)
Tip 4: Dress it up. Our favorite approach to the tracksuit is dressing it up. Firstly, try wearing the track pants with a belly-baring crop top and strappy stilettos à la Rihanna.
Tip 5: Embrace print. Make an impact with your prints by mixing motifs and prints. Undoubtedly the coolest way to wear the tracksuit, wearing prints is fun and you can keep it monochrome. For weekends, the Adidas Originals ‘Shell Tile Superstar’ Track Jacket teamed with Adidas ‘Core 15’ CLIMALITE ® Training Pants

This Paris Based Hair Expert Explains the Phenomenon Behind the No-Poo Method
Let’s face it, shampooing our hair has become so ingrained in our daily routine that we rarely think twice about it. A little squeeze from the bottle, a simple lather of our locks, and voila—we’re done. Well, it may be time to shake yourself out of that routine and kick your shampoo out of the shower. Yes, it may sound crazy at first, but our favorite celebrity hair-colorist, Christophe Robin is about to change the way you think about shampooing your hair.
Christophe Robin knows a thing or two about hair care. As a world-renowned hair colorist focused on a woman’s natural beauty, taking Robin’s advice can yield some absolutely phenomenal results. Lucky for us, I had the chance to score an exclusive interview with him to learn more about a trend in hair care that he helped start—The “No-Poo method.” According to Robin, “The No-Poo methods saves time and also takes care of your hair.” It’s time to get on board, ladies.
Keep reading for more on the no-poo movement, plus shop Robin’s incredible line of products.
1. You wouldn’t wash a cashmere sweater with detergent.
Although the idea of a non-detergent, aka “No-Poo” shampoo may be a little strange, Robin explains why it makes so much sense to wash your hair with no detergent. “If you are washing a cashmere sweater, you would not use a detergent, right?” Robin asked me. Similarly, after investing money in coloring hair, it doesn’t make sense to use a harsh detergent in hair. The detergent-like-sulfates are going to rip your hair of your colored locks: “[Shampoo with] sulfate is going to remove the color.]” Instead, Robin recommend a non-lathering shampoo like his Cleansing Mask with Lemon. Toted by beauty experts as a revolutionary shampoo, Robin has been using this formula on his celebrity clientele and will still never change it. “I’ve only recently started selling products, and it was only because my clientele wanted to take it home with them.” The formula in the packaging will remain unchanged and is (believe me) a change-maker for your blonde hair.
2. No-Poo shampoo can help revive colored hair.
The sulfates found in generic shampoos may be harsher than you think. Colored hair is delicate and has already been stripped of vital nutrition post-coloring, so it is of the utmost importance to add nutrition back into the hair. Robin explains how damaging coloring can be to hair and how important nutritious products are, especially when it comes to bleach: “On bleached hair you have to use products that contain a lot of oil and nutrition, because if you don;t your hair will be porous and will grab onto everything. It will grab the smell of cooking or cigarette… It even grabs the mineral contain in the tap water and it becomes either brassy and even very grey, ” Robin explain. Clearly, coloring your hair can do significant damage, however using no-poo shampoo can prevent damage by “locking the cuticle abd pigment inside your hair.”
3. No-Poo Shampoo Offers Benefits that Other Shampoos Don’t
Robin’s No-Poo shampoo does more than cleanse the hair. His Cleansing Mask with Lemon, helps nourish deeply, close hair cuticles, restore damage and illuminate the hair. This means that you can further ditch damaging products and turn to the no-poo shampoo for an all-in-one hair care ritual.
