If we had to call out one beauty trend that has had the most attention this year, it would have to be K-Beauty. But are the multi-step products and extra time spent on your skin all worth it? We think so and as WSJ’s Dana Wood’s reports, it is worth it–both the money and effort. Why? Put simply, the elaborate K-Beauty skin-care regimen helps target almost all skin issues imaginable. According to Woods, many of the products contain powerful ingredients such as snail mucin, bee venom, moisturizing starfish and other extracts that sound strange but do wonders on the skin. “For years, Korean women have focused on skin care products rather than makeup,” says Sarah Jindal, senior innovation and insights analyst for market research firm Mintel. So, it makes sense to look to them for skincare advice. But we get that all of a sudden up-ing to a 10-step beauty regimen overnight is just unreasonable. So, for the K-curious, Wood recommends incorporating one product at a time. “Sheet masks are perhaps K-Beauty’s most effective contribution to the world of skin care because they deliver a saturated dose of hydration to dry skin,” says Woods. These are best to start with and and they come in single-dose packages or 5-packs. Read on to discover the K-Beauty beauty products we swear by!
